Airtime.news is the news, intelligence and practical resource hub for African podcasting. We help people discover, understand, start and grow podcasts across the continent.
What we cover, and how
We report on the business and development of podcasting in Africa: platforms and distribution, money and deals, creators and networks, audience behaviour, events, technology, policy and research. Creator profiles appear when they reveal something useful about the wider industry; we are not a celebrity site.
- We verify claims and link to original sources wherever possible.
- Publication dates are visible on everything, and current information is kept distinct from archive material.
- Reporting, analysis, opinion and paid promotion are clearly separated and labelled.
- Africa is a collection of distinct markets, languages and cultures. We treat it that way, and we do not use South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya as proxies for the whole continent.
- We credit original reporting and creator work, use data carefully and state its limitations.
Sample figures shown during our launch period are marked as prototype data until our first creator survey is published in full.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it visibly. Corrections are noted on the story itself with the date of the change. If you spot an error, use the form below and it goes straight to the editorial desk.
Sponsorship and independence
Editorial coverage is never for sale. Sponsored content and commercial relationships are clearly labelled, featured directory placements never affect editorial ranking, and commercial conversations are kept separate from reporting decisions.
Privacy
The Weekly Wave list is used for the newsletter and nothing else. We do not sell or share subscriber data, and every email includes a working unsubscribe link. Directory submissions are reviewed by a person before anything is published. The full policy, written for POPIA and comparable laws across the continent, lives at privacy and cookies, alongside the terms of use.
