The South African positive-news podcast says it passed seven million streams across platforms between January and August 2026. The figures come from the podcast's own release, not independent measurement.

Good Things Guy says its podcast recorded more than seven million streams across platforms in the first eight months of 2026. A contributor report published by media update identifies YouTube and Facebook as its strongest channels.

The figures are the publisher's own claims, not independently audited audience measurements. The announcement does not supply a platform-by-platform breakdown or a deduplicated listener total.

Media update credits the text to the podcast itself, so this is a self-reported release rather than independent reporting. The release also reports more than 650,000 views for an episode about Baby Eden and over 90,000 YouTube subscribers. It accompanies the positive-news website's eleventh anniversary.

Video first since 2025

According to the same release, the podcast first launched in 2014 and moved to a video-first format in 2025. It says the show has published 75 episodes since that change, including 35 in 2026. The release describes it as South Africa's longest-running good news podcast; that is the publisher's own description and Airtime has not verified it.

In a statement in the release, founder Brent Lindeque thanks BetterBond "for continuing to support these conversations". The release does not describe the terms of that support.

The release does not say how many of the seven million streams were audio plays on podcast apps rather than video views on YouTube or Facebook.

What the numbers measure

For podcast teams comparing performance, these are different measures: streams, episode views and subscribers should not be treated as interchangeable audience counts.
