SMWX has won Podcast of the Year at the 2026 Samsung Galaxy Content Creator Awards, held on 17 October at The Galleria in Sandton. The winners release published on 18 October names the show in the podcast category.
Founded and hosted by Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh, SMWX combines interviews, political analysis and conversation about South African public affairs. The host's official episode page collects its YouTube videos, including interviews with Helen Zille and Floyd Shivambu alongside Week in Review programmes. The episode listings include Johannesburg's 2026 election and the Madlanga Commission. It gives new viewers a direct route into the show's different formats.
The awards' official FAQ says entries are assessed by an independent panel of industry experts using criteria weighted for each category. The podcast award was not open to public voting.
SMWX was one of six nominees. The others were GenC Podcast, Mindset Profits, The Makhs, The Sias du Plessis Show, and Wisdom & Wellness. The category recognises creative, consistent programmes that inform or entertain and build returning audiences.
The official past-winners list records Gcina Mhlophe as the 2024 podcast winner and Podcast & Chill in 2023. Podcasting sits within a wider ceremony that recognised creators across 20 categories this year.
