Apple says creators will soon be able to offer video through Apple Podcasts Subscriptions, to audiences in more than 170 countries and regions, with hosting-provider details still to come. Nigeria's I Said What I Said took its live show to seven cities this year. The Malinga sisters have launched their first podcast, and the Renewed Hope Podcast was commissioned in Abuja.

Apple has announced that video is coming to Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. On 22 September it said creators will be able to offer subscriber-exclusive episodes, ad-free video, early access and bonus content, to audiences in more than 170 countries and regions.

This is an announcement, not a feature creators can switch on today. Apple says it is working with podcast hosting providers on integration and that participating partners will share more details in the coming months. It names no hosts, dates or prices.

Apple's country count does not tell us which African markets are included. Our read: before promising a paid video tier to listeners, check whether your host is a participating partner and whether your listeners' countries are covered. Read the full story.

The Malinga sisters start their first podcast. Samantha and Theressa Malinga, known to audiences from MTV Base's Have Faith, have launched You Nuevo Know, their first podcast. It takes its name from Nuevo, the beauty and wellness business the sisters founded, and is aimed particularly at young people navigating identities, ambitions and careers.

Renewed Hope Podcast commissioned in Abuja. The Renewed Hope Podcast was commissioned at Waves Multimedia Studio in Abuja by Dr Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, Director-General of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development. It will be hosted by Amb. Salis Abubakar and focus on Nigeria's development, opportunities, challenges and future.
